The many looks of console tables

The most common kinds of console tables are made of wood but the level of quality of these different console tables varies greatly.  Here are some aspects of console table quality to think about as you shop around.  First, construction is probably the most important aspect of quality in console tables.  It’s always a good idea to closely inspect the construction of any piece of furniture you are considering buying.  Ask the maker detailed questions about how, where and by whom their console tables are made.  Does their construction include nails, glue, staples or wooden pegs?  If a console table is simply four legs nailed or glued to a board, it is likely that it isn’t going to last very long.  Any weight bearing table should have extra support around the legs.  Material is another important aspect of construction.  Some materials are simply better quality than others.  Particleboard does not usually last as long as solid wood.  If you’re looking at a console table that is not wood, carefully inspect any welding or gluing that keeps it together.  Console tables are great, versatile pieces of furniture but if you do not put some thought into your purchase, you can end up with something you can’t wait to get rid of.
