Accent tables encompass a large variety of tables.  They are mainly meant to accent existing décor but can serve other purposes, as well.  Accent tables look great in living rooms and can be a place to set a drink or display a decorative vase. An accent table in your bedroom can be a perfect place for a decorative jewelry box.  For this purpose, you may want to find a tall accent table and place it next to a window or below a mirror hanging on the wall.  The accent table should not only match the design of your room but also your jewelry box.  Laying a great piece of lace or other fabric under your jewelry box gives this setup a completed look.  Accent tables in your office or library can serve as details to these rooms’ decoration and as a place to momentarily set a book.  Again, these tables should fit in with the total décor of the room.  Libraries and offices tend to be some of the more practical rooms in a home and do not usually incorporate overly elaborate decoration.  A sturdy, simple wooden accent table looks great in a library with many books and large armchairs.  An accent table with non-traditional construction, such as a box-like design instead of legs, can be an interesting detail in an office.  These are just a few of the many types of accent tables that can give any room in your home a finished look.
